Biggest/Bestest 2S stick-sized pack that can do more than 100 Amp?

I'm swapped out my Novak 5.5r motor in my buggy for a new Novak 3.5r, and I'm finding that those 20C 5000mah Reedy batteries I'm using are now marginal for that vehicle. The Eagletree logger says that the motor is pulling 100-110 amps, and the current batteries seem to swell a bit :surprised: so I think it is time to go for bigger better...

While I'm sure that going 3s would be wiser for what I want to do with this vehicle, I already have the Novak setup, so I'm gonna run with it for now.

So what big 2S batteries fit the standard stick pack footprint (height isnt that important, just L & W). Something good that might be rated at say, 150Amp continuous with lots of MAH? I think I'm gonna avoid Maxamps from what I've been hearing, as I really need it to meet whatever specs the pack has with no surprises. What's good out there?

any enerland based 25c 5000 pack will do that....(Polyquest, Flightpower, Thunderpower, RC Lipo, Neu energy)...if you need 150 amps IMO your set up isn't very effcient

Neu 4s 4000s are $65 - you could do 4s2p 8000 @20c 160amps for 130...

That's a good deal , anyone know the dimesions of that pack ,no info on the Neu site ?

Click on more details below the pic, dimensions are listed. All Neu batteries are on sale right now. I bought 2 3s packs for my revo and one of these for my crt.5, 1/10 slider.

Another question , what balancing tap do the Neu batteries use ?

SidewaysLS4,

What kink of amps did the 5.5r pull? I run a 6.5r in my e-crt.5 and was wondering what it would pull, but don't have any type of data system.

Thanks.

You know, I never tested the 5.5r, but was really considering it. I ordered the 3.5r at the same time as the Eagletree, and figured I'd just put everything in the buggy at once, so I have no data for the 5.5.

Not sure what the amp draw on my mamba 6900 is, but my maxamps 6000 20c 2s has held up remarkably thus far. Also, I saw no performance loss trying out my true-rc 8000 10c pack. I think they make a 15c version as well, but I doubt you'll get it to fit right in your car. Very well priced packs. My 8000 10c was under 90 bucks shipped.

I figure that sometime a few more amp draw charts for the Novak 3.5r might come in handy for someone...so here's a couple more.

1:10 buggy with standard (but belted) tires, 12.44 overall gear ratio, 2s 5000ma 20c battery. 60-63K rpm :surprised:

Gets the buggy to 55mph max speed, good stuff :yipi:

I'll use this as the 'before' Neu battery baseline...A Reedy 20C pack with maybe 25 cycles on it (yeah, real scientific, lol). Anyway, this is the gearing I'm sticking with now, not so low that it belts into the GTB ESC 65K RPM limiter, not so high that it just draws more amps but doesnt go much if anything faster (just drops revs, not enough torque). We're talking a choice of 3 pinions here, running the middle choice here considering what I found.

Hopefully the bump to 25C will result in better voltage stability, I like the way that it seems 1/10 of a volt can give ~2 mph looking at the second from last run in this log on my setup.

Now for that package in the mail....

A little followup on the Neu battery...it's a winner!

Very first charge of this battery tested, and compared to my somewhat used Reedy battery, it sure is better (yeah, kinda unscientific comparo)

Average of 4 tenths volt under load better, and new top speed of 58 mph, thumbs up from this tester :yipi:
