Momba Max limit??
 

I've got a monba max with a novac 2700/ 25volt cap, and a exturanl BEC and an integy fan. I've ran it on 4S lipo in my rustler with a 5700 kv cc motor, and now have it in my revo with a finned 7xl motor.

My question is this: will the mm be okay with 2 X 8 cell NiMh packs run in series? The packs in question are 4500mAh elite cells, I ran them in the revo with a MMM (V1 no mods), and Medusa 60mm 2000kv motor and it ran great. Not as good as 5S 4300 Zippy K (2S and 3S in series) though.

Thanks for any info on the max input to the MM.

I would not go over 17v, and the 16 nimh cells can be almost 22v when peaked.

8x 1,25 volt = 20 volt....its seem to me a little borderline for the mm:yes:

What they are saying is it is Mamba like the snake.

some will take it - the one that was in my truggy took 5s 21v / 6s a123 with no issues.

It is luck of the draw- but 5s on a 7xl is a bit much.

To the people who answered my question, thanks. Yesterday when I swapped out the MMM medusa 60mm 2000kv for the MM 7xl I did for a few minutes run it on the 16S NiMh cells. They were a bit rundown from running the MMM combo the day before, but everything seemed to be okay no heat issues or anything of the sort. It was a short run though.

I'll stick with 4S lipo for the MM combo for now, I don't want to kill the esc for no reason.
