Remote or Radio
Heard two guys haven't an argument over this the other day. Are they Remote Control Cars or Radio Control Cars?
|
Id say Radio:neutral:

Radio. A remotely operated vehicle can be operated from a large distance, but usually via an umbilical cable (ROV submersibles for example). We use a radio transmitter, therefore they are radio control cars. :)

...unless it's one of those vehicles (mostly cheaper helis) that are infrared. In that case, "remote" fits better since it's not a radio signal...
|
toe-may-toe toe-mah-toe. It's remotely operated by a radio, so it's both. A wired car and a non-wired are both remotely controlled, but only a wireless is radio controlled, so radio is more specific, but both are acceptable. I went to school with a kid named Tom Otto. He hated it when i'd say, "Tom Ayto, or Tom Otto, which is it?

I have always gone with radio, based on "Radio Control Car Action" the magazine. It isn't Remote Control Car Action. All good comments in regards to this discussion though!
