stampede bl
will the brushless feigao motor 8L fit on a non-modified stock stampede? i'm planning on buying a used truck and converting it.
|
It will be too long, so that the end of it could get damaged. I ran one in my Rustler, and the end of it got scratched up.

id try a 380c 8l if they make them in a 8l. ive heard really good things about that little motor :)

btw stampy whats a 380c? |
its a 380 size motor but will bolt upto a standerd 540 bolt pattern , i think. there suppost to be just has fast as a 540 in a lighter truck cause they spin up faster than a 540 can. but i dont know if it will work in your app. just thought id throw that option in :)

Even if you do get the motor to fit you will need a new controller also for your pede(maybe you new that).
Plus an aluminum idler gear. After that all you should really break is stub axles and spur gears as long as you don't hit anything at 35mph;) You are looking at at around $300+ for that kind of setup. A 380 size motor would probably burn up in a pede. Pede's are fairly heavy and even my Novak SS on low gearing it overheats sometimes. When I had a lehner 4200 basic in it that got very hot also. |
Ahem...please be sure to use a 540 motor plate to make the 380 compatible with your truck and you may want to use a very low turn 380 with high cell counts in your truck, since it's heavy. This will give you speed, longer run time and lower temp.

The Feigao 380C motors bolt up like a 540 without modifications.

Oh, sorry.

People who haven't tried a 380 bl motor have no idea what they're talking about when they say 380 motors aren't powerful enough. You will be amazed when you see a 380 in action. Lipomax put a single 380 motor (twist 42) on 4s lipo in his e-maxx and it only reached 85 degrees F. It also went 30 mph in first gear.
Of course I need to know what batteries you're going to use before I can recommend a setup. My 540 6s is less powerful than my 380c 9t, but my batteries only average at 1.18 volts/cell under a 10 amp load. With better batteries, the 540 might be faster, but there's no chance it will ever beat the snapping accelertion of the 3809t. In most cases, a lehner basic motor or a 380c L motor would be best in a pede, or even a 540 8 or higher turn S can, but I don't think a 540 L motor would ever be suitable for a pede. |
