Winter RC

Has anyone tried throwing some paddle tires on a crt.5 or other smaller 4wd RC and tried it in the snow? I was thinking about it today at work and would like to have a project for this winter to keep me busy.

I planned on doing that when I get a CRT .5

Last winter I ran Pro-Line Sand Paws on the back of my ERustler and it did very well, as long as the snow wasn't so deep that I was plowing it around with the front control arms. In 1" powder they were insane, throwing 1-2 foot tall and 4-5 foot long rooster tails with the front end in the air was a sight to see. Very good tires, I hope I can get a CRT together in time to get the good powder!

The CRT would do even better than the Rustler because of the 4wd. Anything much deeper than an inch and it wouldn't move, the CRT could dig it's way through like my Revo was doing (stock Talons aren't as bad as you might think in the snow).

agreed ^^

i was running the panther paddles and as long as the snow was not deeper than the tires then it did great. wheelied in the snow and everything. it was nice having a huge roust of snow come at me instead of sand also. (this was in a rustler.)

i will be trying it out in a month or so in my ls10

Well it's settled then, I'm getting myself a crt.5 and some paddles.

Most of you have already seen this but here's a video from last winter of my rustler with homemade chains on it. It did great in the snow until it got too deep. Go easy on me. It was like the second time I tried to tape and drive at the same time. It's more about the rooster tails it throws them my cordination.

Made chains for the emaxx and evo but really didn't need them with the 4wd drive on them. Just turned the stock tires backwards helped a lot in the snow. Looking forward to trying out the LS10 I got this summer in the snow. Well not really but I want to see how it does. I can wait though.

That was fresh powder when I started, messed up a lot of snow with just 1 lipo (MA 2s 6k, I was out there for at least half an hour).
