Clutchbell rubbing?

I bought the tekno conversion kit for my revo. I'm finding that the clutch bell is rubbing on the side of the spur gear. Everything on that side of the engine mount needs to slide a bit closer towards the motor, but it doesn't seem like there's room. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have any pics we can check out? What motor are you running? The shaft on the motor may need to be cut or ground down a little bit depending on the motor you are running. Are you running any other mods on the tranny or chassis? Please provide as much info as possible and we'll be able to get you fixed up. Thanks.

It's a Neu 1515/1Y motor.

If the clutch assembly won't go back any further, check that there is no material in the clutch assembly preventing it from being seated properly. Use a pick of some type to check. If it's clear, you will need to grind or cut the motor shaft down a bit. Neu motor shafts vary with their production runs, sometimes they are shorter, longer, have a notch in them, etc. The clutch assembly can accommodate 19-20mm shafts and shorter.

Put the motor in a plastic bag and poke the shaft through. Wear eye goggles and use a high quality cutting disc. Make sure the motor is held securely. Go slow and use a steady hand. If it's not a perfectly flat cut, use a grinding bit to shape it up a little. Nothing to it :) Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

Is your chassis bent? Is the clutchnut on there tight? Did you add too many shims?
Then do what teknorc said. But I would 1st check the length of the shaft before you cut it.

:smile:I had to extend the stock flat section on my 1515-1Y shaft slightly to allow the clutch to sit back a little and clear everything.
