New body and some changes to the E-revo (PICS)

Well i broke down and bought a new body, JConcepts Illusion, really simple paint and i think it turned out alright. As for the changes i decided to beef up the body/wing mount as i have been breaking them alot, im using 3 of the stock steel pushrods for better support.

I like your solution for the broken body mounts! If I break another one I'll do the same. It's amazing that since I put more power in the truck I haven't broke one. I blame it on the stock setup's lack of throttle response which kept me from correcting the truck in the air. necessity is the mother of all inventions - I think thats how it goes!

After breaking 4 of them in a span of 2 weeks i was getting tired of it, so this is my solution. I agree with you on the brushless power giving you more control in the air....but i also find that with more speed you get more broken parts.

I like it alot. I also really like how low the wing is.

I would skip the braces going down, I have a wheelie bar that goes there. The brace going to the shock mount is prolly going to do the most good anyways.

I like that body myself.. though this one below was retired tonight after most of a season of racing :) I have a black e-revo body for practice, and a red erevo body for racing for this next year. I'll see if they hold up as well.

Stum - Is that a Revo with a slash/slayer body and buggy wheels?

shizzon 11.03.2008 01:47 AM

I like the paint on that Stum! I was thinking about doing something with a little bit more to it but i figured that it would just be destroyed, so i settled with something basic.

Yes I was going to make a e-slayer... but after driving the wide track e-slayer (above) I knew the handling was going to be soso.. then I ran a nitro slayer before the parts were available and decided to scrap the project.. they handle pretty bad iMO. I'm sure it could have been tuned a little better, but I decided if I were to do it I was going to base it on a 1:8 buggy.

Shizzon , I am going to have to borrow your body mount support design. I will give credit to you though when I let the guys know how to fit the mount issues. There are a few revos around here that are having that issue. THANKS

I love that J Concepts body design. Have one myself.
Racey, but still kinda has a truck look.

no problem, It should be more resilient to impacts from the rear as well as from the top, hopefully it will make them last longer than a few runs.

What did you use to mount the pushrod to the shock tower/mount? It looks clean and factory

Arct1k 11.04.2008 09:07 PM

You just use an m4 screw and no ball at the exhaust end..

Drill a 2.5mm hole at the other and use an m3 with the ball...

E-Revonut 03.18.2009 01:30 AM

Okay, I tried an aluminum rear body mount and that bent once and then broke! So I decided to modify Shizzon's brace and this is what I came up with.
