A Better handling truggy?
 

last season i raced a hot bodies lsp pro and this year i am looking foward to getting a new truggy. right now im looking at the hyper st pro but im also looking at the 808t.


is the 808t worth the extra money or should i stick with my plan of getting the hyper st pro? im not planning on racing, not bashing

so what truggys are you guys planning on running next year?

is there a better truggy i should be thinking about?

Before i got my X2 i was going to buy the Hyper ST pro . For the money the St pro is a great truggy , turns like a buggy and is very durable so you won't go wrong with one .

However i am very impressed with the X2 so would recommend one as well , turns like a buggy , jumps great and has been super durable as well as having a super smooth driveline .

Can't go wrong with any of the top truggies :wink:

I have a H ST, and the prices they have now on them are a great deal. It would be a huge upgrade from that LSP. Is the X2 worth the extra $$$? IDK, but parts may be easier to get locally.

I dont quite understand...if your not going to bash or race..what are you going to do and why look for the best with this in mind?

I like my St pro alot, but it's a heavy bastard, truggy-wise.

no matter what i get, i still wont be able to get parts localy unless its traxxas so i dont mind haveing to order parts

For racing, your best bet is to go with a name brand truggy which has parts support at your local track/hobby store. You make mention of what you call the 808-T, which of course does not exist right now. That may change by the time spring rolls around but it's unclear as Xray has not announced it. I would say that the XT8, the current Xray Truggy would be my pick of your choices, but then again I've not driven either of them.

Almost all of today's truggies are competitive. It comes down to the quality/durability of the truck and the parts support where you race. There is nothing worse than breaking an arm in the 2nd round and not being able to run the main because the hobby store only stocks Brand A products. Mail order is all well and good but it ain't going to save you when you are 45 mins before the tone drops.

i totaly agree with you dave, but no matter what i buy i wont have parts support locally, all last year i didnt brake anything on my lsp but i really would like to get a truggy that turns alot better.

i thought the 808t would be out soon, i guess i was wrong about that :lol:, i will have to look into the xt8

No where near as heavy as a LSP...

I have a hyper st for sale if you are interested. Great truck, I have too many though...

and I have had the best luck with the st-rr as far as being able to drive it the best and being dependable and not breaking many parts plus it already has the lightweight universals and big bore shocks, I just bought a new xray for a real good price but its not here yet so I cant comment on that one but if you bought the xray you would need to spend another $130 for the 808 bigbore shocks, springs and mounts to make it handle better so I think st-rr is better for the price there is a few used ones on ebay

Dont wait for a 808 T, it will no come, Xray customer have taken badly the fact that Xray pull out a new buggy only few month after the release of the XB8EC. Mr Hudy promise that there will not have new off road design for the next 24 month and they were pretty satisfied with actual XT8.
I you want a Xray try a used XT8 and mount Big bore on it
