Awsome Buggy Tires....

i've been running a neu 1515 1Y on my rustler which runs 1/8 buggy pre-mounts and have found a tire that is almost identical to crimefighters for $15 bucks for a set of 4 on ebay:

i've got probably 30-40 runs on the street, and they're barely showing any sign of wear and they are awsome in the cold weather.

and i'm going to try these next:

the compound is a little harder than the crimefighters, but they don't balloon under heavy throttle, and imo are probably one of the best tires i've tried.

just thought i'd pass on my good fortune on to all the 1/8 buggy people.

I'm actually kinda digging their Badlands knock-offs:

Half the price of a new set of pre-mounted ProLine Badlands.

i've seen those badland knockoffs run, and they do really well. after the mohawks, i'm gonna try those.

How is the space around where the hex nut mounts? Is there enough room to fit a an average sized socket wrench?

rawfuls 11.17.2008 02:00 AM

I'm guessing these aren't made for EMaxxs and ESavages? Poop.

the plastic the wheels are made out of sucks the wheels have a tendency to crack for track use there nothing like the real thing there way to hard but for all out bashing and driving around on the street they are the best tire for the price i owna couple sets and they do good i reccomend getting the disshed one as the spokes are the ones that crack the most

rawfuls 11.17.2008 02:08 AM

Also, what size hexes are these? I'm assuming 17mm?

cheesecake 11.17.2008 02:08 AM

yes there 17mm i think i saw some where they make truggy tires too pre mounted..

another thing is the glue jobs on them are really good too

rawfuls 11.17.2008 02:10 AM

Would you reckon that they'll fit on a EMaxx?

go to the auction for the buggy tires then see additional items from seller. He has E/T Maxx wheels with 14mm hex. The Buggy tires would fit an E-Maxx withj the use of 17mm adapters, although a MT would look a little funny with tires that are about 4.5" tall and about 1.5" wide!

funny you should mention that. on one of my e-maxx's i did that.

just for fun, i took off the e-maxx sized wheels and put the buggy sized on it and really gutted the truck to get it to look kinda like a dual engine 1/8 buggy. i dropped a ton of weight, and by the time i was done, it was able to compete with any of the 1/8 class at my track....i got the idea from jang @ ultimatetraxxas.com.

it was FAST.. my dual velineon motors on mamba escs (modded w bec to go 4S) would do over 65mph.....i'm pretty sure if i really pushed the gearing i could have gotten to 70 if i had been using dual XL motors.

I'll look around and see if i have any pics of it still around. i've since changed it back to a full sized e-maxx for my daughter to drive.
