how strong is the 3.3 tranny?

the stock tranny.
i just bought a N. revo roller and wanna know how strong the tranny is?
will it take a 6-7XL on 4s?

otherwise i'll just have to get the robinson racing steel gears thing.

i was gonna leave teh shifting thing operating too.
my local track is starting to shun electrics as we are faster so i wanna keep everything in a conversion state, that way in about 30 mins i can take out electric stuff and bolt in some nitro shat.

The tranny is ok. It held up to a 9XL on 14 cells forever once I addressed all the weak spots. Noteably the pins that hold the gears to the shaft. There is a sticky by yours truly that explains what pins to use.

Just be aware than if you keep the 2 speed tranny, you'll also need to keep the mechanical brakes (which I assume you are since you'll be designing it to swap back to nitro).

i'll take a geez at that pin thing, maby try and harden the stock pins for now but thanks a bunch:mdr:

hey fellas, would you consider keeping the mechanical brakes a good thing? how taxed would the 1515 and MMM be using the engine for brakes?

i found my output shafts dont like being snatched into reverse at 30 MPH, did the FOC after that. followed the sticky from the master BrianG.

i guess the robinson gear set would be pretty much the ultimate upgrade.

I had a 3.3 converted Revo with a Neu 1515/2.5d w/ 6s Lipo, a stock tranny with the FOC and pin mod and never had a problem with the tranny
