MM BEC output voltage
Does anyone know what the output voltage is on a MM V3 & can they be adjusted to higher voltages?
I haven't got mine yet & I remember having issues with my V2's not supplying enough voltage to my servo & now that I'm going to use mechanical braking I'll be drawing even more current. |

Mamba Monster's Bec is set at 5.5v |
Can it be adjusted?

Nope. There was a thread a while back and Patrick said if you send it in, they could bump it to 6v if you wanted for a fee. But, I'm sure they're a little back-logged right now and it would take a while.
If you want an even 6v, consider using an external UBEC and disable the internal one. It would be quicker and about the same price. |
Yeah, I was thinking of that. My mate has one, so, I'll give it a try when my MM's come in. If they get here, it's already been 2 weeks since I received postal confirmation from CC.

Anyone test the ouput voltage of their MMM lately? I still have a V1, V2 and V3 here. The V1 has 5.56v output with no load and the V2 has 6.1V out out with no loal and the V3 has 6.05v output with no load.
It looks to me like the V2 and V3 have a 6v output and the V1 had the 5.5v output. The CC website documentation still says 5.5v but thats not what my MMMs are putting out. |
Hmmmm, good to know.
Maybe it's my brushless servos drawing more than that???? I have no idea & will have to find out when these ESC's finally arrive. |
Jeff IIRC I too tested my V2s and had 6V - I think CC bumped it after the feedback...

My V2 has 6V output before it died. And that's neccesary for an offroad vehical where hight torque servos are required.

I just received a new 18kg Futaba BL servo to see if this fixes my steering woes.
|
Sounds like it'll pull some amps. I look forward to seeing your test results.
|
Well, I tried a CC external BEC & the result was the same, so, I'll install the new BL 18kg & see what happens.

Installed the Futaba BLS352 18kg servo this evening & my steering woes were eliminated.
Mind you, I did realise that the arms on the steering knuckles were also bent upward. Bent them back & steering is beautiful. Big test tomorrow to see how everything holds up & also to see what my runtimes are going to be like. Fingers crossed I can last at least 25mins with a 5000mAh Zippy. |
