Team Associated RC8E
Just came accross this on Neobuggy.net
The new Team Associated e-Conversion Kit has been designed for the RC8, RC8T, and SC8 to be easily and neatly converted from nitro to electric power. The e-Conversion is a well thought-out, practical design thathas been engineered to work as an integral part of the chassis. Enjoying the awesome power and convenience of LiPos in your SC8, RC8 or RC8T has never been easier! • Rigid one-piece motor mount utilizes standard motor screw mounting pattern • Large speed control mounting area raised off of chassis to allow for easy screw mounting of common speed controllers • Speed control mounting area includes convenient switch-mounting boss • Utilizes 3 hook-and-loop straps to secure LiPo batteries into battery tray • Molded Battery tray supports 7.4-14.8V battery packs with room for foam pads • Accepts two ROAR-approved 1:10 scale size 7.4v LiPo battery packs (#703 Reedy LiPo 5000 PRO (2), #704 Reedy LiPo 5000 w/connector (2), #705 Reedy LiPo 3200 w/connector (2), #709 Reedy LiPo 5000 35C (2)) • New sealed receiver box for proper electronics placement • Receiver, Servo, and battery tray remove from car in one piece for easy maintenance and cleaning • Easy bolt-in chassis installation requires no modifications! • Convenient wire routing keeps critical electronic wires out of drivetrain components and simplifies disassembly • Includes two pinion gears (15T, 16T) and two spur gears (46T & 50T) • Comes with all needed hardware to mount components onto chassis • Motor, ESC, and batteries are not included • RC8 conversion requires RC8e body #89523 http://www.neobuggy.net/images/News/aecs.jpg |
Our breed dies day by day...
nice looking truck, not as good as the real thing (rcm) |
That looks really nice. But i like the single pack conversions better my self .
|
This is the result of a company cattering to ROAR! I still beleive ROAR = rediculously outrageous assanine rules!!! Limiting truggys and MT to 4s puts even more stress on the batteries which puts them at a higher risk for a potential problem
|
Clean setup... Who cares about roar?Regardless of roar rules it is stil a nice layout.
|
i do like the little rx box/servo tray..... but the balance is still off, and i wonder when we will get to see that reedy 1/8 scale motor?
|
It looks like another bad attempt.
It's way off balance. Why didn't they put the diff off to the side a bit? Why does the battery have to be so far forward? All the weight is in the front left side of the car and this will be noticed when you drive it. Just like the E-8ight, I think this is a way of quickly getting something out there, without putting in a whole lot of effort to come up with something more though out. Not a real attempt to design a new innovation. My 2cents... |
wow.
|
thats the same place where I put my radio box in my sc8E..... i do like the ability to adjust gear mesh and being able to take out the motor without having to remove the pinion....
|
Im wanting to know what other motor sizes there are bringing out and what size batteries
|
Hey, like others have said... not perfect. but at least its another of the big guys jumpin in the game. The Rx box / servo mount looks nice and so does the little wire bridge over the front center cvd. I'm sure they didnt move the center dif because they used the nitro chassis. it will probably be available as a bolt in conversion kit for the nitro buggy like th Losi.
Good first step. Before you know it there will be a kit from all of the manfacturers and we will still be using Mikes stuff because he is still 10 steps ahead of them. |
I actually quite like that. No, the balance isn't quite perfect, but for what seems to be a stop-gap conversion until they build a dedicated machine, it doesn't look at all bad to me. I especially like the motor mount...that looks beefy. It needs some work in terms of batt placement/tray size, but they're getting there.
I have to admit that I don't get all this moaning about how companies have "stolen" Mike's motor mount design, though. Mike came up with the "hanging-off-the-diff" idea first, but it's simply the best and strongest way to mount a motor to the centre diff. Other manufacturers aren't going to go for an inferior design just because they want to be different. Surely it's just common sense! Mike's design is great, and I think the fact that the major manufacturers are using similar designs is a testament to that. If they could come up with a better idea, they'd use it. But they can't. |
Looks nice but I'd still take the Losi 8ight-E over it.

I don't like it.
It should be easy for these big companies to make something very nice, but they still make conventional designs. Mike should be getting some royalty checks as I know he was one of the first if not the first to come up with that design. |
