LOSI 8T 10S Rocket...........

3 Attachment(s)
Hey guys,

Thought I would post some pics of my new project. It is a LOSI 8T with 8B arms to help reduce drag induced by the open wheel design. It has the 8B diffs as well for more top end. I ran 83mph with it on a Mega 22/30/1E on MMM on 5S with 18/38 gearing. New setup is HV85 on 10S with a Neu 1515 2.5D and a little more gearing......all done on the LOSI brushless conversion kit!!

Here are a few more pics...

You might set a record with this. I think jzemaxx's record was 81mph with his MMT on 12s. Weve got to see a video of this thing in action.

Thanks Takedown. I was hoping it would have been a video with the pics as I was planning on running today to test the 10S setup but weather will not allow...

Man, I just cant wait to see this thing bullet down the street. Should be amazing.

dirt101 11.30.2008 07:48 PM

wow if you dont get 95mph I would be suprised. I hope that 2.5d can handle 10s.

speedracer1129 11.30.2008 07:55 PM

dirt,

On paper, the 1515 on 10S will pull about 61k rpm. It won't pull that in the car under load so I will be in the 60k max spec. I am shooting for about 50k under load. I am most worried about the ESC than anything else as I hope it will give me the amperage I need!! I know I should have used the HV110, but I got the HV85 in a deal brand new.

Takedown 11.30.2008 07:59 PM

All in all Im wish you the best of luck with this. I expecting 90mph+.

dirt101 11.30.2008 08:00 PM

i think I read somewhere that the 1y pulls around 60 amps at 60mph on 6s in an emaxx. so im "guessing" with the extra voltage, lower k/v motor, and a more aerodynamic truck the 85 amp esc shouldnt be a problem.

dirt,

That is all relative to gearing. I am used to seeing 150-180 spikes in high speed 4S-5S setups. I am hoping the HV setup will calm it down to lower spikes but we will see...

my first thought was you be exceeding the 85 amp limit of the ESC but its a conservative rating it should be able to take more than 100 amps IMO. I like the idea of going with a higher torque/lower kv motor and getting your speed with gearing. If you only increase your battery voltage and leave everything else the same your amperage will increase

DRIFT_BUGGY 12.01.2008 05:58 AM

Sweet, whats the chances of a vid

Semi Pro 12.01.2008 09:04 AM

very cool truck, i cant wait to see a vid too

I understand AZ. Maybe I worded that comment wrong. I have not tested this setup at all yet. I saw those numbers on other vehicles that I have done. What I meant to say is that I hope with a HV setup like this I don't see those numbers!!
