e-maxx tranny w/ FLM savage TVP?
 
Is it possible to do an e-maxx tranny w/ the savage TVP from FLM? I am starting a new project and would like to use the e-maxx tranny and ultramaxxed gears I already have.:neutral:

You would need some L shaped brackets to mount to the tranny. That way you could bolt thru the tvp into them. I did something similar with a new emaxx tranny and a xtm x factor...

...what i am working on with an E-Sav tranny is boxing it on both sides first and then just fitting that between the tvp's...Pretty easy and you can use already exisiting holes on the FLM chassis...

From what I have heard the e-sav tranny needs some work to handle more weight or power...

I am shelving my flm build till the flux savage tranny is available, or at least the internals.

...Not really but go with what you have heard...I own and run E-savage.com so i am slightly biased anyway ;)

...Agree with you on the Flux tranny though...Do we know the final geraring of that yet or are we still guessing?

Ahhhh, so you know that tranny better than most! I am guessing that the flux tranny (at least by the look of it) is a stock savvy tranny with a single speed setup in it. I would guess that it must have a similar final drive ratio to an emaxx, and with the diff having lower ratio the tranny must be around 2.5:1????

I just like it cause it is a direct bolt in, and I do not really care for mech brakes, and do want reverse, but not mechanical either. I just like the simplicity of motor brakes and reverse. I have tried it both ways (sounds sick) and the tuneability of motor brakes suits my driving style.

...Yup...Thats what HPI has told me so far...there IS a review and a video on Pumpkin RC or whatever its called...Sorry forgot the name, no offence intended, so the details are out there...

I am just wondering how close the output is to the esav???

LP between you and me all the esav center needs is a couple of alloy tubes to replace the plastic spacers and you are good to go ;) Its like a 2 dollar fix ;)

...DOOD!! So agree with you on this one...I have been electric all along and wouldnt know what to do with a mechanical setup even it introduced itself drunk at a frat party :D

Hmmm, frat parties... Good stuff, I actually was not in a frat, but was good friends with a few chics in a Sorority!!! I got to go to their pj parties and such... 1 guy and 20+ chics, those were the days.

Back to reality.. I have tried mech brakes and they will help with a setup that is making heat with motor brakes, but with a good esc and motor they are not necessary, just add weight and complexity. After converting the LST and seeing how strong the brakes of a MMM on 6s are with that heavy beast I really see no reason to go back to mech. I have the brake strength set at 50% on that truck and still had to dial in a bit of brake epa to stop it flipping. The brakes are stronger than the stock mech setup!
