sticking MIP CVD (2.5)
i bought 2 sets of MIP 2.5 shiny cvds (second hand). Anyways one of the four sticks pretty hard when it's moved towards one side of the pin, it's about as loose and free moving as the others when it's straight and when it's moved on the other side of the pin. sooo, yeah, it sticks on one side, no matter how much i lubed it, it still sticks, so i think somthing is warped, or bent. can you guys give me any advice? will the problem fix itself if i install it, or do you guys know which part is damaged and if i should replace it, or even a way to repair it.
anything is helpful right now thanks |
take it apart, clean him good.. Perhaps some loctite got in his way..
|
yeah maybe some locktight got on the pin? that happened to mine, i just took it apart and cleaned it all.

well, maybe, but i took them all apart and lubed them all just prior,, and i think it was doing this before i put loctite on the grub screw. it doesn't just stick really, it gets progressivly harder to to push it as it nears the pin on one side. this is why i think somthing's warped, it's the cylinder/socket connection that's probably dragging for half of its full motion
but, i'll take it apart again, see what happens |
btw, cleaning them did fix the problem,,, odd really
|
Yeah, i figured it would be something like that. perhaps loctite..
I also had this issue with a HB cvd, it was binding, and when i loosened the set screw, it was smooth as butter.. apparently, the small pin got deformed by tightening the setscrew. |
