Gave the LS10 a new body and it's taken a shine to having its belly scoured
Had some time to get a body painted over the last couple of days. Not sure if a I like the gold on it and the black was suppose to be a charcol and the Candy apple red is well Candy apple red at the right angle and lighting. It looks just like black and red in the pictures. But hey I don't have to wear it. I retired the Nikko body I was using on it.
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14774 Making the little fellow wear it probably messed him up for life. Think if your parents sent you to school everyday dressed like Angus Young. Yeah. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...0/DSCF7122.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...0/DSCF7123.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...0/DSCF7124.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...0/DSCF7126.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...0/DSCF7127.jpg While I had it out I took the drill and wire brush to the bottom again. I experimented with some spray on protectant a while back and the stuff ended up turning the bottom a diffierent shade. So I roughed it up again. Wierd but I thought I heard purring but when I stopped the drill the purring stopped. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...0/DSCF7072.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...0/DSCF7091.jpg While I was cleaning up the work area I found some lexan peices from back when I was practicing to make a lexan slipper. To replace the glass one of course. I dusted them off and figured they didn't look to bad from a distance so. I put them on it also. I still need to add the battery straps to the battery tray and some cushion either on the lipos themselve or the trays. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...0/DSCF7105.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...0/DSCF7128.jpg Looking over the pictures now I realize the paint job looks better from a little farther aways. Should of taken some long distant shots to post. |
well on the candy colors your supposed to lay down a light base coat first of like silver or gold
did you do this? |
That looks awesome with those Slash tires, how well do they work?

No I didn't do that. I used the parma faskolor paints. They don't have much of a help section or how to with thier paints. Usually it is a coat of like silver after the certain paints they have. I didn't do a real good job with the silver and to top it off I didn't do the darkest first. Putting the charcole over the red/silver back did me in on that. I got a few clear cookie container her from the bakery. I will try and put a light base coat down first and see how it works out. I have two more bodies to do. Thanks for the help any others tips would be appreciated too. Hey Sullie Those tires work great on the LS10. When I first got it I tried m2ks, dirt hawgs, step pins, bad lands, moabs, and they did the best job for how I run it. |
