RC-Monster battery tray ?help?
I bought a custom battery tray from the Monster to fit my 5s NeuEnergy. It came with an extra piece on the bottom so that it will not lie flat on my FLM chassis. Has anyone removed this piece? It appears to be glued on. Do you think I could split it off with a chisel or screw driver?

My tray was flat on the bottom. Any pics of this rogue plastic?
I say, if you can remove it safely then just do it. Especially if it is keeping you from finishing your truck! |

Hmmm..... Was it custom just for the battery, or for the truck also? It would appear the purpose of that piece is to allow the battery straps to fit under the tray. Mine just had a shallow trench cut across the bottom of the main tray part. By the looks of it, I doubt it is just glued on. If you have a bandsaw (who doesn't, lol) you can slice it down so the tray sits closer to the chassis. Otherwise contact Mike and see what he thinks.

That is the version for if you have mud guards to clear... The recess is for the mud guard.
If you don't need this because the entire thing fits flat on chassis I would send back to mike for a flat version |
^ Yeah, what he said.

Mine wasn't glued. It's held on by 3 hex screws (inside tray) which you can remove. I had that on mine but had to drill new mounting holes in order to reposition my tray on the chassis.

Thanks all. There no screws on mine. I would hate to mess it up by trying to split it so I think I'll just send it back...
