lightning stadium pro-r

i currently have a jtracing t-maxx truggy i have yet to run because i need adjustable motor mounts (on there way). i have heard good things about them but am wondering if i should sell it, keep the motor and pipe (wasp .28 and ofna pcr pipe) and get the lightning stadium pro-r. i have looked and cannot really find many hopup parts for them. the one big thing i dont like is that there are no threaded shock bodies. the maxx as it stands is pretty nice. it has powerstrokes, true trac rear suspension, ti. turnbuckles, acncm bulks, ti. suspension pins, ue knucklehead towers, a few rpm parts, and a few other small things. i am not sure how it will compete with the slew of lsp's at my local track. although, my local hobby shop doesnt keep parts for them:mad:, they keep plenty for the maxx. i honestly dont know what to do and dont know how they will compete with each other. what should i do? any input will be helpful.

I am going with Jammin' x1crt, with EBmod Rex528xr, Msr1005pipe and 2@hitec 5955.

what kind of pricetag does the x1crt have?

Papa 12.10.2005 01:43 PM

Between $550 - $595 plus power and radio.

It is ready to race out of the box long arm truggy. NO MODS necassary.

The talk on the grid has been outstanding with many top pro's switching from teams like Mugen to run them in Unlimited MoNsTeR class.

i like the sounds of it but its a little pricey.

I read an article about them myself. They rated the truck very well. They even said the one guy was out running a buggy with it. I think before you sell it squee. Try it out and see how it does. Just my opinion. You never know until you try.

thats what i entend to do but the only thing is i have never driven another truggy so it might be good but i wont know exactly how good without driving another. another thing that makes me second guess it is because the chassis' are kinda hard to come by.

well i plan on selling the jt (pm if interested) and getting a lightning stadium pro-r and about the only thing i dont like about them is that there is no threaded shocks. does anybody know the length or what stocks will work? also, i currently have a wasp .28 for it but would something like a o.s. .21 or a picco .27 be better?

EDIT: also, i have seen the wabash rims on the lightning. will these make it narrower like the maxx? or will the velocities make it wider?

know one knows?

For power I went with the Novarossi 528xr. Sending it out to EB mods after the new year. Lots of grunt there. Sorry I can not help with the wheel or shock issue

squeeforever 12.20.2005 10:53 PM

How much is one of those Novarossi's?

Papa 12.20.2005 11:00 PM

depends on where you shop about $325.

This is the Novarossi 528XR 8 port .28 non-pull start competition monster truck motor. This engine is a rear exhaust with slide carb, SG crank and a Turbo plug. This is a monster of an engine with massive low end torque and ridiculous top end speed. Perfect for getting the large wheels on monster trucks moving and for top speed on the straight! If you want the fastest and baddest competition monster truck on your street, this is the engine for you!

sounds like i might have to get me one of dem although i dont have a starter box :(. how does this engine compare to say...a picco .27. for the price the picco seems to be a good engine and i think it will be loads fast than the wasp .28 i got.

Papa 12.21.2005 10:55 AM

The same motor is available in either pull start or roto start versions.

squeeforever 01.01.2006 11:08 PM

well im looking for a new motor for my lightning although i dont know how the wasp .28 will perform. im thinking about a picco .27 werks editon. any input?
