MMM mounting options on Gorillamax

Just curious how you all are mounting your MMMs on the Gorillamaxx chassis. Please post pictures. Thanks.

i'm just useing mounting tape to mount mine.

I use this novak "tape" LINKY its really like a square of clear super sticky silicone or something, sticks to aluminum and the MMM real nice. I flip my truck down the street going 50+ alot and its never come loose lol

Hi ssspconcepts! What chassis from gorillamaxx? The maxx or revo?

ssspconcepts 12.27.2008 09:55 PM

Hey thanks for everyone posting their mounting techniques. I have the latest Revo Gorillamaxx chassis and room for the large MMM is limited....and it has been somewhat of a pain trying to find a good place/method to mount the controller.

ssspconcepts 12.27.2008 09:57 PM

This is what I am going to mount the MMM to:

I actually played with that scheme, but I plan to mount a 1521 and the motor becomes a problem. I am going to try and flip the tranny and see if that works.

Arct1k 12.28.2008 12:59 AM

Personally I run the transmission in the other direction and use the second ear to hold a mounting plate...

suicideneil 12.28.2008 05:03 PM

I too like the motor to point to the rear so that there is room for my old & large rx in the front- just using heavyduty velcro to stick the MMM to the rear plate (maxx rather than revo version chassis).

Yep! I think I figured a way to do this and keep it looking factory. I had to order another G-Maxx EVX CF plate and I need to wait until traxxas releases the MMM mounting bracket but it will be worth it. I have been working on this truck off and on for over a year so another month or so isn't going to kill me.

I thought that you had a revo. That truck looks awesome! I think that I might have bought my slipper from you on ebay a while ago. Anyway, here is how I mounted my ESC:

Yeah...my wife's ebay account is luv2shop530 and we did sell that slipper awhile back. I hope you are happy with it. I hated to part with it and the sprong but it is soo hard to buy slipper pads these days.

You also have a nice set up. I like your stainless steel Traxxas axles/CVDs. Are you happy with them? I was thinking of upgrading to those if my stockers don't hold up. I do have the RD Racing 8mm axles and 17mm hubs...but that doesn't help the stress at the CV joints.

By the way...how about posting multiple angles of your MMM mount?

ssspconcepts 12.30.2008 02:37 PM

Feisty...nevermind...I found your closeups of the custom MMM mount you made. Looks sweet.
