I have an emaxx with the gorilla g2 chassis and g3 suspension im looking for a brushless setup that i can run inside during winter and outside during the summer (just add cells or adjust throttle in the radio for the summer). maybe a 9xl and 9920 control.
im 14 without much$$ currently running borrowed hv maxx but iwant more power

welcome to forums, thats a great setup. Dont forget about the #s of cell. a XL motor would cost more, and also you woul dneed to buy more cells. But u get longer runtimes and insane power.

boss 302 12.11.2005 07:40 PM

thanks what gears and how many cells would i have to run not lipo cells

Rtsbasic 12.11.2005 08:19 PM

I hear a 7XL on 16 cells with a 9920 controller is a good setup. Can your chassis accomodate 16 cells without any major mods?

rchippie 12.11.2005 08:23 PM

I belive the gmaxx chassis can handle 8 cells per side with no mods.

My question is how long do you race. Welcome to the fourm boss 302

boss 302 12.11.2005 10:31 PM

the indoor track i race at during the winter is small and dont get 2 race long heats and mains(3, 5min heats and a 5min main)
iwant to have long run time with max speed 40+mph
the chassis can handle 8 cells per side what gears should upgrade

40mph+ with g-2 chassis and g-3 race suspension? Your truck wont hold up too long at those speeds with those parts, we are talking big bad monsterous motors here, they will eat your diffs.

boss 302 12.11.2005 11:04 PM

what diff and tranny gears would i have to run along with any other parts

squeeforever 12.11.2005 11:09 PM

you would need idler gears from mike, strobe slipper since you would need new pinions anywho, and maybe some diff cups and shim them properly. if i were you i would go for flm hybrid bulks but since your on a tight budget i would just get aluminum cups.

nbcaznmaster 12.12.2005 07:33 AM

u dont need that long of a runtime with 9xl! u can get 1/2 an hour wich is overkill. I say go with 7xl, i heard people get 15 minute runs outta them. why would u want speeeds like that? U said that your track was small, and i bet there isnt much space to go that fast.

boss 302 12.12.2005 08:06 AM

i want good runtime for the summer power how much of a differance is there between the9xl and 7xl

squeeforever 12.12.2005 09:05 AM

coolhande gets 25 minutes on average.

coolhandcountry 12.12.2005 09:31 AM

I get 10min on 7xl and 25min on 9xl. Maybe check into a 8xl. I can not say about run time on these. your truck should be fairly light with the suspension you are running.

Rtsbasic 12.12.2005 09:49 AM

Whats the power like on a 9XL though? I bet its great for racing, but not so good if you take the car to an open area.
