MMM hold down part number

5626 Mounting plate, electronic speed control (Castle Creations Mamba
Monster brushless system) .................................................. . $3.00

Traxxas finally put up the parts list for the BL e-revo

mkrusedc 01.05.2009 10:39 PM

About time. Anybody know if that means they are shipping?

Takedown 01.05.2009 10:42 PM

Does traxxas not know what strong DBL sided tape is our are they illiterate....

BL_RV0 01.05.2009 10:52 PM

If you get any dirt or dust between the esc and the tape it no longer sticks. I will be buying one of these mounts when they come out.

brushlessboy16 01.05.2009 10:56 PM

Likewise, I ended up Ca'ing velcro to to the bottom of the mmm case.

Takedown 01.05.2009 11:05 PM

I never had lucky with velcro... The dbl sided tape I use is a the strongest stuff I can get locally. 5lb scotch heavy duty no residue tape.

brushlessboy16 01.05.2009 11:11 PM

20lb per sq in velcro works :)

Sometimes if you only rely on double sided tape from below, the case actually can come apart during a hard impact. This can lead to more catastrophic damage as an un-cased circuit board would be flopping around your vehicles inside and you might not realize it.

This is why many people use zip-ties around the top of the case to HOLD everything together.

This is exactly what Traxxas did.

It is a very smart part to make for another manufacturers ESC and addresses the issue while looking custom. A+ Traxxas.

I second that. I really like the "snap" it makes when it comes together. That's the only thing I don't like about Velcro, sometimes it doesn't stick right.

Just realized that what I have IS dual lock- stuff is great!

BL_RV0 01.06.2009 09:45 AM

Only problem is that if you get dirt or dust in the sticky side it never will work again.

What's_nitro? 01.06.2009 01:37 PM

Well that goes for everything except Zip-ties. But Zip-ties are usually one-time use.

Most adhesives only work if the surface they are sticking to is clean. Clean it.... Stick it.... and forget it. You cant take the glue off and on and expecti it to work. Thats why i like the dual lock. The glue sticks really well as long as you dont have any edges hanging loose or off the side of the part you are sticking too. It wont come off unless you want it too, but you can still get the esc off. I leave a small corner under the bottom of the esc with no dual lock on it then I can use that to put a little scredriver under the esc and pry the dual lock apart.
