Mamba Max on 5s lipo
 

Today I tried my Mamba Max on 5s lipo in my E-maxx with a Traxxas VXL. It worked great, but the esc got a little bit warm. Now to my question. Would a Mamba Max work ok on 5s with a fan and some capacitors? It would be in an E-maxx with a 36/70/2300 Medusa. It also has LST diffs. Thanks.

Don't expect the MM to last long in this setup. I burned a MM with Medusa 36-60-1600 on 5s in a Jammin' CRT geared for about 40-45mph. The MM had a bank of four 330uf 35v low-ESR capacitors and a CCBEC. The MM lasted maybe 10mins and never overheated or got too hot.

I ran my MM for months on 5s. 40mm fan, no problems whatsoever. should be fine

MM on 5s can be a crap shoot, you will have better luck with the older version (yellow label)

Mine is the newer version (black label) it worked fine. It got to about 140*F, but I was running it for like 10min. I think my esc gets a cookie for working and not taking a big crap lol.

I should probably be thanking castle too for such a great esc.

I ran two MM's with 5s before, one was with a 7xl and the other was with a 9xl. this was in the colder months and worked fine, no fans, no caps, no mods at all. I only went to quarks, because it was getting hotter and if something blew, i had a warranty for 5s
