mmm combo on rc8
in about 2 weeks i get all the stuff i need to finish my rc8 conversion.
im well be using the following rc8 ae conversion 6s 4000mah 25c mmm/2200kv combo i dont know what i should do about gearing. i dont want it to over heat but i want it to have amazing amounts of power. like kill my nitro buddys. i think there cars are going about maybe 45mph. also what kinda run times do you think i should be getting with the 4000mah 6s battery packs. im hoping for like 15 to 20mins. |
so no one can help me???
|
With a motor that big in a Buggy you have plenty of room for gearing. A 13T pinion should put you up around 50 MPH, but you could go higher if you wanted. Hopefully those lipos have a good discharge on them because that big motor is going to draw a lot of current.
|
with the right gearing you could hit 65 easy. or at least thats what joe ford from CC told me.
|
Tbh, you may only need 4s to kill your nitro buddies, but go for it if insane speed what you are looking for.
|
the 6s battery have a 25c discharge rate so it should be enough.
if i ran a 13/44 do u think i well have over heating issues? |
Sounds like a cool setup, But Id rather get a 4s setup with 6000mah capacity, and you should have killer run time and keep the MMM combo happy with lower temperatures.

ohh yeah thats true, there will be less amps provided so it would be running cooler. MY BAD
|
i was going to run the 2200kv but we got the 2650kv combos in work today so i decided im just going to go with that one on 4s. that way i can control it on the track and its cheaper for batterys.
|
I ran a Tekno NEU 2200kv on 6000mah 25c 5s geared 13/46 in an SC8 and it had wicked acceleration, 27 minutes runtime and cool temps. SC8 will have the same gearing and tire size as an RC8, and it was heavier. This was all on a track in race conditions.

I dont think any batteries you are planning to run will fit in the Associated battery tray that comes in their kit.
It was made to fit 2 x 2S hard case 1/10th scale packs (much smaller) and I dont think 150mm long batteries will be able to go in there. |
if i remember correctly the tray is 140mm long. and the batterys im using is 150mm long. so i plan on just cutting the end of the tray to make it fit a bigger battery.
i already know im going to have to modify it a little. |
Why not just buy Mikes kit and put whatever you want in it?
