Looks good. Everything is nice and tight close to the center.

Looks nice. How is the front to rear weight balance on those. The batteries look awful far back to me.

front to rear balance is about even i was expecting it to be really back heavy but its not. they did a good job designing the car and laying everything out.

cheesecake how do you think about the Losi motor ? any good? power, efficiency, heating up......

I have an early EX running MMM with a 1512 2.5d/f, standard 44/13 gearing, and a pair of 2s 5000 20c continuous 30c burst. I haven't run this much but I'm questioning my Speedo settings. I have read the "MMM what's your settings" thread and gone for 80% punch control, low start, normal timing 10deg. Though I have only run this in the street, neither the motor or speedo get hot. I have 45degC on the motor and then same on the speedo. The cells don't seem to alter. Ambient is about 8C. The torque seems :surprised:. The top speed doesn't seem to be all that.

What is your advice?

Gear it up? Advance it?

I'm new to all this electric RC stuff so all advice accepted.

Gear it up! That motor can handle quite a bit more, maybe up to a 16t pinion in your setup. For starters you may want to consider a 15t, though, just to be on the safe side.

Just double checking you are running the batteries in series right....

Arct1k, Yeah! I'm running them in series.

Metal Man, Thats the way I was thinking. I just wanted input as the kit I need over here in England is rare and importing stuff, these days, is very dear. Not just because of the exchange rate but carriers like to change us for doing the customs paper work as well.

From what I have heard Neu Motors saying is that the Neu line runs better with a low or lowest timing setting.

As for your speed, how are you confirming its not up to snuff? Is this confirmed on your track going down the longest straight? if so, gear up so you top out towards the end of the longest straight. I usually go for 3/4 down the longest straight for initial gearing using info from the late Big Jim.

Don't be suprised however your torque INCREASES.

I'd best start pulling that "throttle" curve.

As I have only run it on the tarmac outside the house, I have only been able to judge it against the Losi 8 C6bbt that I have run in the same place. I'm new to this electric RC so I am stunned by the torque it has now. I know the tyres it came with are on the soft but I can lay four black lines with this thing and after only 3 mins of running I could drive the thing sideway down the street on opposite lock. I didn't think it was possible to drift an 1/8 buggy but this, I can. The top speed on the Losi C6bbt is, at this time, is a fair chunk faster. I expect the EX to be faster around the track if I can tune the suspension to the Losi level, not of outright grip but driveability.
