Couple of brushless questions (connectors & bec )
I am going to buy placing my order for the 8xl (wanderer) and 9920 tonight, and this will be my first unsensored setup.
What connectors do I need? I saw it said I will need connectors from motor to controller (does the controller just come with bare wires to batts and to motor?) I plan to run deans, but didnt know which of the other connectors (motor) I need, if any? Also, the 9920 does have a BEC, right? Do they come with the jumper setup for bec? I would prefer not to have to run a receiver pack right now, and dont have the extra cash to get the ubec (is the advantage of the Ubec a higher voltage like 6.0 volts instead of 4.8??) Also, anyone know where mike is at? havnt gotten a response in almost a week of sending a pm. Wanted to know if he was able to get the twin force battery trays or not. |
I like the ubec over the internal bec. It has 6v and make the esc run a little cooler. Seems to run better to. If you buy a bk they have the plugs to motor but you need the plugs for esc. They are 5.5 mm plugs. I run dean for the batts and have not problems with them.

Don't mean to hijack you probably need to know the same thing for the 8xl anyway but I just ordered a 9xl and need to know what pinions to get. Its the blue 9xl if you need to know.

I use 5,5mm plugs on my elektronics. On the motor (7xl) I soldered at each wire an female 5,5 plug and heatstrinked it. On the esc (9920) I soldered male connectors at each wire.
On the + and - off each accu I soldered a female connector. I use a sillicone wire with at each side an female connector to connect the two pack to each other. The other + and - off the driving accu I connect the esc wires. |

I'm using stock spur for now but will eventually buy the strobe.

I thought the wanderer motors were black?
So these are what I need? so how many total will I need? I see they come in pairs (one M, one F) Do I have to use the 5.5, or can I run the cheaper 3.5mm plugs? Kind of confused as to how many I need (if I need 3-4 pairs, at 5 bucks a piece thats a little pricey) |

I already have deans on all my stuff, and would rather not change over all my batts/charger to the gold connectors. Can the deans handle the amps ok?

the deans will be fine for battery connections, they are the best
