5s zippy, motor is a 88mm long "36-88-04" of no certain brand, 1280/volt, noname china-esc, buggy with truggy-tires and a lot of modifications.

I will change the esc, I have received the scorpion commander today, looks good so far.

to keep the cheapo-esc cool, Ive put a vent on each side... it works

not a beauty, but fast (finally, after many mistakes and burned motors...)

Nice conversion you have there, that thing really moves. Where did you come up with that motor? That thing is huge. Keep up the good work.

I have used those motors and 2 of mine failed with 5S. Let me know how it's working out for you? I have asked the manufacturer of that motor to make them better, but the owner is the most hard headed guy I've seen so far.

thanks! well, the story about the motor is as follows:
I've burned two chinese xl-motors (due to my own stupidness & poor quality), before that two chinese L-type motors (got it refunded) broke and literally explodet (extreme vibrations, after a few sec. the endbell blew off & magnet broke apart into a few parts), so I was sick of that. I thought I need a motor with lots of torque (because of the big tyres and the normal buggy-diff), low kv and open-style front- and endbell, so the heat gets out.

and by accident I've found that "36-88-4" at a big german rc- & elctronics department store, it's a plane motor, which is on sale at the moment (Eur 69,-). the vent helps a bit to ged rid off the heat a little bit. for that money I'm quite happy. the torque and the low kv should keep it cool as well.

on 6s and a wrong gearing Ive killed one, it also says max. 18v... but the first 4 minutes were just insane... quality is quite ok, bearings are good. so far I guess the best one amongst the cheapos.
there is a german brand called robbe, they have a very similar looking one, same kv, lengh etc, its a robbe roxxy 3688 inrunner, but these motors have a higher voltage rating, and are quite good in quality, probably better than mine. this would be an alternative (for the double price, about Eur 125,-).

the novak-heatsink is doing a good job. on 5s and a 17t gearing max temperature was 40 degrees. well, it's cold here. tomorrow I will take again the 18 teeth one, to get it fast again, also acceleration is better. last time on 18t and 5s the max. temperature was 50 degrees. lipo had about 45 degrees c.

Fortunately the buggy stays quite clean inside, that was my intention.

I installed a bumper at the front, and some extra weight to get some traction for the front wheels.

the steering-plate made of aluminium was the same crap quality as some other aluminium-parts, so I made a new one (natural silver look).
It's always good to have some alu at home...

I also had to slightly minimise the travel of the front shocks, to get some weight to the front.

the specs says max. 18 volts. I had it on 6s, but now back with 5s, which works fine. the robbe takes max. 30 volts... Ive read one comment once on the robbe, that he wasnt that happy with it. I dunno.

even when the two have almost the same specs, I dont think that they have the same interiors.

if you search the internet for 36-88-04 inrunner or so, you get similar ones. I guess I 've seen ones in us-online-shops. like this one, Motor seems to be the same:

I've put the esc (which works excellent, except the breaks) to the front to get some weight there, handling is better. It's not a beauty, but it's all selfmade and - it works! The 12v fan is connectet to the battery and works great, like that temps are around 122 f/ 50 deg. c. max.

what is also good is that only a little dirt gets into the buggy.

I am just waiting for the xcelorin esc now.
