Did you leave a note saying what you wanted them to do with it?

BrianG 01.22.2009 07:12 PM

You sent in a Mamba Max to be replaced with a Mamba Monster? I don't think they'll do that. If you mean you want them to replace a V1 or V2 MMM for a V3 MMM, that's a different story.

At any rate, their repair floor is just probably what the operator sees in their database and is probably a collective code for "someone is about to look at it".

My mistake ,i should have said i wanted the new v3mmm duh!my brain is fried
at the moment.thanks! I will send castle a email, hope they well catch my
stupid mistake.thanks guys!

If it is a MMM, they will replace with a v3. If it is a mamba max, you can't send it in for upgrade. Only repairs and replacements.

I am confused,i am new to the brushless thing, what is the difference between the
v1 ,v2 ,v3.The one that i have i think is the v1.It has the green heat sink on top,and
it says it is the 1/10 scale version esc.Is that the one that eveyone here says that they
are haveing problems with? What is the deal about the M's,there is a m,mm and a mmm.
What is the differece?I am totally confused about this.Someone get me stright about this! thanks.

BrianG 01.23.2009 10:59 AM

They all use the same heatsink and basic look.

V1 has BEC issues and had the motor and power wires directly soldered.

V2 has similar issues and had the motor and power bullet connectors instead of soldered wires.

V3 has a new brains board and seems to be the winner, and has power wires directly soldered and motor bullet connectors. I guess there are some V3's that look like V2 though.

johnrobholmes 01.23.2009 11:06 AM

And the ESC with the green heatsink is a mamba max (mm).

v1,v2,v3 are all types of MMM (monster max) controllers.

there is no v1,v2,v3 MMs [Mamba Max]... not officially anyway...
there is a single MM [again, Mamba Max], which is what you have sent to CC... visually, yes, it`s a 1/10 scale controller, with a green heatsink and a usb port...

the MMM [mamba monster max] is a different story... visually: no green heatsink, no usb port, and it`s a 1/8 controller... this controller [MMM] has been through 3 revisions [v1,v2,v3]; not the MM...

mmm

you can't upgrade from mm to mmm. mmm is the one that had issues that gets upgraded

eovnu87435ds 01.24.2009 02:40 AM

yeah, the mamba monster(mmm) is not seen as an "upgrade" to the mamba max(mm). they are just seperate products desighed for different size RC cars and trucks, and therefore you cant just hand in one product and expect them to hand you a different product in return... the upgrade thing you mightve read about only concerns the monster, which the v1 and v2 versions do bad things. Castle has realized this and doesnt want to be responsible for blowing up thousands of rc cars, so they will take in only the mmm v1 and the mmm v2 and will give you a mmm v3 in return.

as bummed as you might be, just because your mamba says 1/10th scale doesnt mean you cant run it in a 1/8th scale. many people do. i did until just recently in my 8th scale hyper 7 buggy and it was faster than it's nitro counterpart by far. what are you putting it in? check my signature for more info on using the mamba max in your rc.

Thanks guys for your help.I didn't know they had 3 version of the mmm,i thought the one
i had was one.I gave castle a call yesterday and they got me straight.I was totally confuse about this.I feel a little stupid about this, still new to all this brushless thing.I AM
still learning ,but i think i will learn alot from you guys here you guys are the expert"s!
Again thanks for all you support!
