E REVO power system

Hi,

OK, yet another thread on the power system for this truck. After looking around a little bit, I've decided to settle for 6S & a Medusa 70mm 1600KV (or thereabouts) motor. I'll use these lipo packs based on the fact that they fit the small battery compartments.

I'll gear the truck to have similar final ratio as that of a typical nitro truggy.

ESC used will be a MMM V3 (thanks SuperEk4).

Joe Ling

Here's a pic of the battery compartment courtesy of Hoov. It might not fit.

It should fit ok. There's actually about 180mm in length, it just tapers down outside the 160mm length. The 165mm length should fit ok since it's only 25mm tall.

You can fit bigger, you just have to use a shoe horn and some grease like I did! All joking aside though my FP packs are larger and the fit with a little persuasion on the locking tabs. I have jumped off 6'+ heights and banged around and the doors have yet to pop open. I think other than being a little small, Traxxas designed the compartments very well.

She should fly Joe ! Keep us posted on how well those batteries do .

Thanks for the pic credit George :mdr:

Joe, those batteries will fit, but if it were me I'd get the flightmax ones they just released;
THESE
or
THESE
or
THESE

More mAh, higher C rating, Less money, smaller, lighter,
the only down side is that they dont come with deans connectors predone...
Which isnt really a problem ..LINK

best of luck!

Hi George,

The pic is good info.

Guys, thanks for all the info & comments. While I like the flightmax ones, I worry about the 50mm width. Then, there is the littel issue of wire lead management.

Anyway, time to pull the trigger.

Joe Ling
