Medusa End Bell Dust Cover

Since I have some time on my hands, I decided to make a dust cover for the rear end bell of the Medusa. I had some Feigao/KD36 end bells lying around so I hacked one up and used the RC-Monster motor clamp to keep things in place. Hope you guys can recycle your old parts this way...

That's great. I'll have to pull the endbells off my dead Mamba motor and put them on mine. Thanks for the tip!

I took a piece of extra Lexan (from the extra stuff when cutting out bodies), and made a template that covers all the holes and bearing, yet doesn't touch the wires. Then, I use that as a template when cutting out some of that high-temperature aluminum duct tape stuff and just stick that on the end of the motor.

I've got a washer that I cut to cover the holes on mine, but it's large and doesn't stay in very well under rough bashing.

Sunny I swear today I was trying to figure how to use my xl monster clamp and came up with that same idea. The xl clamp is a little to long for the 36-70 madusa motors. That is funny.

Great tip...on mine 50 series I found some thermal tape good to 300 deg. so far it is still there

The "s" size fits the 50mm medusa motors. The "L" size fits the 60mm motors and if you use a 4mm front cover, the "XL" size fits the 70mm motors.
Having said that, we are changing the heatsinks around at the moment(hence no xl in stock) to offer heatsinks specific to the Medusa motors(as well as others) - including front and rear "covers" built into the clamping heatsinks. :)

Mike, you are the man! When they are done, I will be buying at least one...thanks Mike:yes:

Mike, that's timely on your part. Can't wait to see what you've got cooking! Thanks.

Good to hear. I need one for my 70mm Medusa. Any estimated date of availability?

Indeed man!

That's a L size motor clamp on my 70mm Medusa. Works fine for me ATM especially like how the heat sink is a little short and that lets the motor wires come through.

Just what I was looking for... Sounds great. would also like to know how long... Thank You.

Can't pin down a definate ETA just yet. I will revert to the old standby "coming soon". :)
Note that it won't be too long, as I am out of the xl heatsinks at the moment, so I am motivated to finish them. :)

Arct1k 02.04.2009 10:37 AM

But if anyone needs an XL PM me :)

Rnemhrd 02.04.2009 08:28 PM
