Electric Bicycle

I remember seeing someone posting some info about it but I can't find it... I am kinda thinking about trying to build an electric cruiser for this summer..

Something like this would be total bad a$$ http://www.marrscycles.com/index.html I think I could build it a lot cheaper..

My firewall blocked that site saying it`s a security risk

Yea for some reason it show the sight has been attacked.. they have a youtube video of the bike but I can't get to it from work...

Saw the video. Is it possible to pedal the bike or are the pedals just for show/footpegs?

I think on the mars you can assist pedal or pedal if it is dead.. don't know for sure on that one.. I know you can on others..

I wish I could get a spec build from them.. the excel wheels are cool, I wonder what wheel it is.. I wonder what motor and batteries they are using.. seems like a lot of the bikes are still using older battery technology..

i built one last summer.. on mine you can pedal assit. i went about building it from parts so i used 4x12v 7ah lead acid bats series with a phoenix brute (for the most torque) rear wheel w a crystallite 48v controller on a diamond back mt bike with full suspension.

here is the site i got the stuff from ..

it was cool at first but the novelty wore off real quick... im assuming it does about 25mph per the specs. but the charge takes to long. the bike weights 50+ lbs, its never fast enough, and to make what i really want to do go faster weigh less and run longer... you would need a controller to handle lipo and sink mass bank into a battery system and put it up on like 60+ volts.

thats my 2 cnts
ill try to get pic up but the bike is now in the back of the garage for winter

overall i prolly could have spent 2k and got a dirtbike

I think I could build something similar to this.. We being my parents own a Machine shop, not that I have ever built or welded a handful of things my brother has been doing this for the past couple of years and could help...
