e-maxx question.....

i'm seriously considering making an all aluminum e-maxx. I'm considering going 95% flm. my question is how much weight does it add?

am i looking at a serious power/speed loss if i deciede to do it? right now, i'm running a neu 1515 1/y/s with an MMM in my stock 3905 on 6S.

any opinions are greatly appreciated.

Here's how much my emaxx weigh. All UE except for a few parts such a gorrillamaxx. It's geared 51/20 and can easily do standing double flips.

Emaxx – RTR with 2x 3S 5000mah lipo batteries. Had Badlands tires.
- 5.35 kgs = 11.77 lbs

My full GorillaMaxx weighs in at only 7lbs or so without batteries or tyres- those are the things that can make or break the weight issue. Overall going full metal wont add a huge amount of weight over stock, but it depends on which metal parts you get- FLM is quite chunky, but has lots of weight saving milling done, so a normal BL setup wont struggle to move the truck around, not at all; rotating mass is the real killer, so light weight wheels and tires will really help.

Not like yours then Neil ;)

Hehehe, I dont have any problems making the truck wheelie or flip onto its lid if I punch the throttle, hence the massive wheelie bar I built. The only bad thing is 2 pole motors dont like spinning all that rubber, so a nice torquey 4 poler is called for- roll on the 1518 please...

I think the FLM chassis and braces are lighter than the stock 3905 chassis, braces and battery hold downs. Popoxx on the other forum weighed them and had pics. I would get the UE knucklehead shock towers though. Stronger than the FLM shock towers I think and look way better and may be lighter. I managed to bend a FLM tower.
