Very Nice Setups!

Thank you for the vids!

I've had my eye on the 80mm cans for awhile now. I'm just waiting for them to become available.

I noticed you did some 6S runs with the 80mm can. How were temps doing on the higher voltage?

bruce750i 02.10.2009 11:21 AM

With the motor holes tapped over the E-revo was like 110*-130*f (24/58) on a 50*f day and the Rc8t was like 130-145*f (16/58?) and climbing slow depending on driving style on a 72*f day. I did not change the gearing from 4s to 6s and did not see much change in speed and acceleration. My 3.7ah 25c 3s lipos are stressing to keep up. They were warm at 109*f and I only used 1300mah out of them.

When I get one, it will be going in my E Revo.

I have a feeling you could gear that motor to the moon and it would just run like crazy.

You have good temps especially without a heat sink.

I would try something like:

Monster Mamba ESC
36-80-2200kv Medusa Motor
18/40 Mod 1 Gearing

This setup would raise amp draw, but the MMM can handle it.

On 4S, I have a pair of new 30C continous, 50C Burst 3500mah packs. One will fit in each compartment on the E Revo. Wired in Parallel, these packs should yield 210 amps continuous with 280 amp Burst Capability with 7000mah on tap.

This will also raise motor temps. That's where I would add a heat sink.

Medusa makes a great heat sink, but right now I'm using one of the large Novak heat sinks. It works very well.

My current setup is:

MMM ESC
36-60-2000kv Medusa Motor
18/52 Mod 1 Gearing.

Tops out about 40mph but has really great acceleration. Alot of fun to drive.

I have used 18/40 Mod 1 gearing with a 36-60-1500kv Medusa Motor. I could run it even on 6S and Motor temps stayed good using a heat sink/fan.

how did you get your wires to bend like this? and the antenna tube??? and i like the screen on the fan.. nice work!

bruce750i,

What are you running for diff fluid weights. I've got a 36-80-1600 Medusa and a MMM going in my Raze Truggy and I'm not sure how far I should go with the diff fluid. In my nitro Raze Truggy (stock .28 super tiger) I've got 75-100-50 (yeah you read that right). That's what I was told by a tech at duratrash and I didn't/ don't know any better so thats what I did. I only really bash/ jump these things so I'm not sure if I would even see the difference going 10-50-5 or something more sane like that. Do you have any sugestions for me? thanks.

Nice setups by the way.

Sikeston34m,
That 4s2p 7000 should kick some a$$.

tha5150,
I'm using a stiff 8GA stranded wire, then I should of used pliers and a vise to make the bends good and square but I only used pliers and my hands. the ant tube was cut off then carefully heated with a lighter and bent. The esc screen was dry-wall mesh glued on top.

Raze ST Truggy,
I'm using ae 7k-10k-3kr but I'm pretty new to running three diffs. I still get alot of front wheel spin. Just give it a try see what you like. I may be wrong but I think different brands express their diff fluid viscosity in different ways. So my 7-10-3 fluids might be called 70-100-30 by your brand, IDK anyone know?

Raze ST Truggy 03.06.2009 11:37 PM

Thanks bruce, I'm going to try those weights in my Raze buggy but in my truggy I've got 75K 100K 50K for the diff flid right now. I wanted to get all the power the stock nitro had to the wheels.
