what gearing for E-revo/1515/1y on 4s and 5s

im trying to find a solution for running both 4s and 5s in my E-revo, so basically a happy zone for both my 4s and 5s setups so i wont have to go changing my gearing every time i swap packs.

from playing around on the top speed estimator as well as calculator it seems that on 5s the truck will run anywhere from 8-10 mph faster for any gearing setup than it does on 4s. would it be ok to gear the truck for about 40 on 4s and 48-50 on 5s be acceptable. The batts being used are 4s 30c 5000mAH polyquests and 5s 5000mAH 25c RCM lipos (according to many on here they are under rated and are capable of more than 25c).

18:54 or 19:54 would be a good starting point. That's 36-38mph on 4S and 45-48mph on 5S.

I ran 22/62 with my 1515 1.5D and it ran great. Not sure what kind of top speed but it was faster than the Revo's stock suspension could handle. Had enough low-end power to spin all 4 tires on the asphalt, then once it got up some speed it would just flip over.

I came to the same conclusion of 18-54 as i have the 18T pinion (also have 22 and 24 but those are pretty big) and nearly all of the available spurs minus a couple. I just wanted to check and make sure that this wouldn't be too much for the motor/esc and batts.

18:54 should be pretty easy for that motor and batts. The 1515/1Y is a beast of a motor and gearing for under 40mph on 4S is a breeze for it.
