Smallest mod 1 Spur???..need help

Anyone know of a mod 1 Spur...steel, that is 25T to 30T . Need one ASAP...and badly.... I have a 39T right now on the truck and need 10th less for the speed I need. I am maxxed out on pinion, as Mike's biggest pinion is 25T.

Thanks guys....

Just out of curiosity... Can you post a pic of your current gearing?

skellyo 02.22.2009 11:05 PM

For what vehicle?

jzemaxx 02.22.2009 11:07 PM

CEN nemesis. With the current gearing 39T spur 24T pinion with my 1900KV motor on 5S and on Bowtie's (5.68") I'm getting on the GPS 32mph on 5S. I need to get to 40mph, as our track straightaway is pretty long and I'm losing my lead advantage on the straights.

Pics here of the gearing....

the smallest I have come across is a Revo 36 tooth

The problem is the Cen Nemesis trans ratio is 4.2:1 which is killing me. The Revo's, HPI's and MGT Nitros are killing me on the straights. I have them on the turns, but then get eaten on the straights. The nitro guys already yack about taking the nitro motor out......time to show them the rear of the truck down the straight. Next race is this weekend. 3rd race of the season so far.

Maybe pick up a CC 2200 motor? That'll give you over 5000 rpm more than the 1900kv one you have now.

Tried that...but the motor ran hot. This truck is heavy. Twin 5S plus the weight of the truck, gets me in at just a shade under 20lbs. 1521 runs MUCH cooler.

20 lbs! Yikes. You might be better off lightening it up some and going with one 5s pack, but I doubt you'd be able to lighten it up enough to do that. The only other thing I can think of is to use 6s instead. And/or modify the tranny.

jzemaxx 02.23.2009 12:50 AM

I found a Revo 34T steel gear from Integy.

As for modding the trans....their is nothing out there from these trannies. Its not like a traxxas that everyone has one. Also have to run twin 5S's for the A-mains. They can be up to 30 mins. Also 6S would make it even heavier...lol

BrianG 02.23.2009 12:57 AM

I actually meant basically remove the tranny and put in a solid shaft or something like that.

And 6s might be a bit heavier, but if you gear up really high on 5s to compensate for lack of speed, you're pulling more current and runtime would be about the same.

No matter what, sounds like you've got your work cut out for you.

Thanks for the link!!!

Also does Mike have pinions bigger then 25T in mod 1?? I would rather give him my business then this company first, but if not I will order from this link.

jzemaxx 02.23.2009 11:02 AM

Also I looked and they do not show Mod 1 gears in that link. Just 24 pitch, which I understood will not work with mod 1.
