Why does the diff in my e-maxx smell soooooooooooooooo bad???
Ok, i shreded the diffs a few weeks ago so i finnally got around to changing them today. i got the rear diff out, opened the case then couldn't breath for a bit becouse of the HORIBLE smell it!! :oh:
My question is how in the world does it smell soooo bad? And why does it?? |
I guess that means it "crapped" out on you! :lol:
Sorry, couldn't resist. Anyhoo, what does it smell like? Mold, mildew, feces, urine, skunk? |

Well that conversation had my wife and I both cracking up. You guys are just too much. As for the smell in your diffs I can only imagine that it must have been from the type of grease that was used during its assembly. Some greases smell really bad due to the composition of components mixed together. Plus we have no idea just how long the grease was in the diff. As for dissing James you really have to watch out for yourself, because you know he is not going to just sit there and take it without getting even. Nice try though. If Harold were here I am sure that things could get really ugly.

How old is it? It could be really burned up as well. I took a temp gun to the alu case of a center diff that was diffing out badly. I was shocked to see how hot it got. It was the hottest thing on the truck lol.
