good track tires for emaxx
 

I ran my new emaxx for the second time at my local brush site ( i had to unload some small tree trunks from my brothers house). There was a tall pile of fine sand that i didn't want to touch ( sand = enemy) and a bunch of big tree trunks (too big for the emaxx) and piles of tree brush wouldn't work either. But, what was there was a pile of broken roof barrel tiles. Well, that was interesting. I had a blast slowly climbing this pile and hearing and seeing the tiles shift as the emaxx paddle tires slowly made their way over the jagged tiles!!!! The skid plates were boken in properly, although i don't think i'll do that again. Anyway, what good ( LIGHTWEIGHT) rims and tires would be good if i wanted to race on a track? Thanks.:eek:

the 40 series crime fighters on velocitys is probably the best setup. the crime fighters hook up much better than my bowties and are really nice on pretty much any surface.

The most popular racing tires I've seen are ProLine BowTie and CrimeFighter (CrimeFighter is usually better), and Traxxas Response tires.
The CrimeFighter tires seem to be the best all-around.

now i assume these tires your listing are much lighter than the stock paddle type?

The stock chevron tread tires are likely to be heavier than any tire made for racing. I don't have actual numbers, but almost anything made for racing is typically made lighter.

if i were to use crimefighters all around but use narrower crime fighters up front would that be of benifit? or just use the same stock size all around?

the traxxas response don't fit the maxx wheels, only the revo wheels and the 40 series bowties only fit the proline 40 series style wheels,but there are maxx style bowties

Although you're always encouraged to experiment here, I will say that I've never seen anyone race with narrower tires in the front of a monster truck, so chances are it isn't ideal for racing. I'd suggest keeping all 4 the same size to start, but definitely feel free to experiment - as long as you keep us informed of your findings :)

it would probably be safe to assume that narrower tires in the front would make it less stable in the turns and probably wouldnt hook up as well in the front. also, the bowties can be made to fit the revo rims but they wouldnt be well balanced as you would have to have the stock size tires and cut the sidewalls and roll them into the bead on the revo wheels. i had some like that and they werent balanced that well.

EDIT: also, i wouldnt recommend responses as they wear out fast and are made of thinner rubber which on a brushless truck, could probably rip. promod had some on one of his trucks and it wasnt pretty afterwards. if you want to check it out the thread is intitled: lehner owns me a tire
