I have a hangover... help!

Well, I drank too much last night... Had a good time, and somehow only paid for one drink. Well, about 8 shots, 5 double crown and cokes, a couple of "puffs" and a beer later, I was 3 sheets to the wind. Now I am paying for it. I can barely type, and my oj tastes like al foil...

Any suggestions? I am eating a cheese sandwich, and I took some aleeve earlier. Not my first hangover, but they seem to last longer now that I am getting older...

Since I know that most of you guys drink or used too, what "home remedies" do you have?

Eat some greasy hashbrowns...always seems to help me out.

Sausage and eggs that are good and greasy! Nothing better than kneeling down and hugging the porcelain God.

Having another drink usually helped me back when I was a boozer, and that was a looong time ago. I dont mis that part of my life one bit.

Here in Bavaria, the "Gegenhalbe" is very popular. It means if you are feeling very bad because of too much alcohol, just drink another beer and you will feel better immediately :great:

Drink lots of water to get rid of the dehydration. Also take a good multivitamin to get the minerals and nutrients back in your system.

I go with a drink of Powerade and eat a Mega size Moro bar........could do that daily really, lol, rehydrate and add some energy.

This sounds about right. Drink lots of water. If you stay hydrated it is really good for your body. If you drink a lot of water and get lots of sleep you'll never get sick. I haven't been sick for 2 years. I'm sure those things would help with a hangover.

Red Bull and sourdough bread/toast (water too!).

Yes I am going to be 33 soon and my hangovers are much worse than ever. Funny, I will wake up in the morning and feel fine, as the day goes on into the afternoon I start to get increasingly worse. The hangover headache you always get in the back of your neck is always due to dehydration.

Not really a hangover specific cure, but take some nyquil and sleep it off.

This is only for future reference......less drink, more smoke.....

Hangover is dehydration. Imagine your brain when you feel good, all plump floating in a nice layer of fluid. Now imagine your brain as a dried up prune sitting in an empty container. Now the only thing that will help is water. The bad part, at least for me is right after the flood of water my head hurts worse before it gets better, but it gets better much faster. Eggs usually help it along, also even if you hate it and don't feel like you need to, PUKE. It will help.

Wish the grean was legal and alcohol was not.

Drink water, and maybe a beer. It helps. I know its not the best, but it works. My buddy, a medic, recommends Pedia-lite. You know, the stuff they give to little kids to help them hydrate, swears by it.

So if you have some of that around, go for it.

+++1 for drinking lots of water. Eating helped me too. advil might be better for headaches than aleve.

I seldom drink that much anymore to avoid days like linc is having.....as stated above, a greasy breakfast, powerade and sleep.

Good job though paying for only one drink! It is bad enough w/a hangover, but when most people drink that much, their wallet is the second thing that hurts!
