using the RS pro in a 1/8 converson?

will the tekin RS pro handel a novak 4.5 550 sized motor on a 4s?

I have a pair of 35v caps, but no bec, so for now I plan on using a RX pack... enless the internal bec will work??

my plan is to convert my old hyper 7 since they have no resale value...

I would think it should be fine. Just pull the red wire on the RSPro and use the Rx pack. The BEC wount hold up to 4s. Watch your gearing to start with untill you get a feel for motor and esc temps.

I've run a R1Pro for long time in a 1/8 scale buggy and had great sucess with it so I would imagine that the sensored version should be fine as well. I know the R1 and RS are basically the same thing except for the sensor wire port. In all honestyyou probably dont even need to use the sensor wires, it should run just fine in sensorless mode.

Yes you can. Jhautz is correct you will need to remove the red wire to do this. The RX pack or seperate BEC will be needed to power the radio system.

This was answered in the Tekin forum as well.

Whit, make sure your timing is turned down to like 0-10.

its a sensorless, and the timeing is at 0 on the speedo, IDK...

could it be the 4mm bullets between the motor and esc? I havent goten to the LHS to get some 5-6mm ones yet

I doubt it. Make sure to cut the motor wires to equal lengths, it helps. A bad connection certainly could cause that issue.

but it only cogs trying to go backwards..

one little thing I noticed, you can't re calibrate the esc when using a external BEC....:neutral:it just sits there trying to find neutral.

for programming, you need to reattach the red wire and use a 2s pack

since everyone seems to have an "good" esc at the LHS, how would an RSpro fair with a tekin truggy 2250 motor in an e-maxx? with the usual bec/caps/fan...

TekinTeamMgr 05.02.2009 11:00 PM

I'd get an RX8. The RS Pro is not intended for that application. I always recomend the right esc for the job.

However that being said I'm sure it'd be ok. Making sure that it's setup properly with low timing and in Dual mode. Proper caps, etc.
