Xray XB8 question
Hi all,
I've got a buddy who has an XB8 he's wanting to sell to me. The nitro motor is shot in it, so it's been sitting on his workbench for a while. From what I've read, this seems like a good candidate for an electric conversion. So now, I'm trying to come up with a fair price to offer him for it. Other than the motor (which I don't care about anyways), it seems to be in good shape, although a tear down and cleaning are in order along with new wheels/tires. I've looked around but there doesn't seem to be a lot of sales pricing on these. So, my two questions: 1. What would be a fair price range for me to offer him? 2. Assuming this buggy is no longer manufactured, how easy are replacement parts to come by? Thanks in advance! |
- What version is it? The TQ or EC?
- What's the condition of the roller? Pics would help. - What upgrades (if any)? - What's included in the total package? * Just to give you a good idea of the value, I paid $200 shipped for my XB8 EC roller about 6 months ago. It was almost new (very little use), all parts were in excellent to near mint condition, and it had about $150+ in genuine xray hop-ups (cnc chassis braces, center diff mount, rear hubs, & front knuckles). Rule of thumb is usually 50% of what they paid for (assuming its still in good-excellent condition), but with today's economy, I've seen rollers sell for much less. There was a nice xb8 ec that just sold for $125 shipped on ebay last week... As for parts, you can still find xb8 tq and ec parts from online shops like Amain and RC America. |
