Got to drive the RX8

Well I went over to Cap city to get some wheel time in with my new mod truck, and who shows up? Randy Pike! Duh:lol:

First thing I see if his BL MBX5 and I was like OOOOO BABY! RX8 RX8 RX8:mdr::party:

So after talking to him for a few mins and asking questions he said you guys can drive it (my buddy and Randy are good friends) and he said we will go out and run it in a few mins and you guys can drive! SWEET! He pops in a proto Tekin 4s lipo and away it goes.

HOLY FLIPPING CRAP! It was faster then hell! And the best part, SMOOOOTH! Anyone that trys to tell me there MMM is going to beat this is stupid, im sorry but there is no way in heck the MMM even compares FOR RACING. It was just amazing, driving that buggy was like a giant wheeler. Never cogged, was insanely smooth, never got over 3 LEDS, ONE time and literally we pulled the body off and then it shut right off. Fan comes on at 140. So it wasnt hot driving it on a smaller 10th scale track. Motor I swear got colder after running it lmao. It was just crazy. So anyone that cant wait or something you better. Randy said 2 weeks, he was testing the new case o the ESC, I guess they had problems with it and thats why the release was delayed. But it WILL be worth the wait, I personally promise! And im not even a Tekin driver!

Setup was,

RCPD conversion
Tekin proto 4s lipos
RX8, and there 1512 sized 1900 KV motor I believe he said
Mugen MBX5 buggy

Enjoy:mdr::mdr:

measures the temp. there are 7 leds and the higher the led count the higher the temp.

i am also looking forward to the tekin RX8 system.
however such an overeuphoric comment does not really help much. it only boosts expectations and therefore increases the chances to be dissapointed. we will see when it hopefully comes out soon.

bye

I want to let you know of a macro button on your camera. It is great for taking pictures less then 2 feet away. It makes the pictures not-blurry.

That was a pretty enthusiastic opinion, but that is about how everyone has responded. Grip and rip… it just works and you do not have to think about it.

The 7 leds do a lot more than just show temp when in neutral. They also allow you to adjust almost all the user features, display a lot of diagnostics and ramp up with throttle and brake so you can see the throttle levels relative to the radio trigger position. All Tekin speedos use the same super quick and easy, at your fingertips user interface. The Hotwire takes it to another level of adjustability to really dial it in for spec racing.

The leds do take all of the guess work out of using the TX - I loved them in my mini rage..

Anyone know if they are releasing a larger motor for say truggies or MT

skellyo 03.10.2009 05:44 PM

They have a 71mm long motor targeted for buggies and a 76mm long motor targeted for truggies. More info on kv values for each: http://teamtekin.com/t8.html

Thanks for the info:mdr:...I missed that when I looked at their site 2 weeks ago.

Sweet...I might forgo the mmm Medusa set up I was planning on for my Revo 3.3 conversion if the reviews are good!

TekinTeamMgr 03.10.2009 09:38 PM

Those were taken with a cell phone.

I handed my radio to at least 5 other drivers there that day. The all said about the same thing "It's like a super fast huge 1/10 4wd buggy!" which isn't too far from the truth.
