E-Maxx Series or Parallel
 

I am helping a buddy who bought an emaxx. He has Mamba max with a 9xl motor and wants to buy some lipo batteries...

Would it be better to run 2 2s 5000mAh batteries in a series? or 2 4s 2500mAh batteries in parallel?

Whichever is easier to use and charge. Generally, you run and charge in series.

Personally, I'd go series. That way you never have to worry about accidentally putting 2 x 4S packs in series and killing the ESC. Then you also have the option of buying hardcased packs as well.

I was opting for series just because it would be way cheaper.. you can get a 2s 5000 zippy for 40 bucks.. but didn't know if there was an advantage over one or the other..

to run them with the stock speed controller evx2 would he just need to add lipo cut off?
