Castle MMM 2200 in a Gorilla E-maxx
I am currently running the HV6,5 in my E-maxx, but have thought of changing the system to another.
Will I gain anything if I change to the Castle MMM 2200 system, and what about the batteries. Will I need an adapter to let them into the esc? I am also thinking about the new RX8, and one of Tekins motors, but I am not quite sure what motor that should be. How is that system compare to the HV6,5 and the Castle soultion? Any help on this is greatly appreciated. You can check out my E-maxx in the link in the signature. |
The CC 2200 or the RX8 will be WAY more powerful than the HV 6.5 system. What batteries are you currently running? Personally I would go with the CC 2200 because of the price, and I don't like sensored systems.

The MMM probably be more powerful, You would lose a bit of smoothness at really low rpm.. Your going to need a decent set of batteries to power it. zippy H 5000mahs seem to work well for a good price but enderland basedpacks are some of the best you can get.
The rx8 system is sensored. |
I am using 2 x 7,4v. Maxamps 6000 mah. lipos.
Ok the MMM should be the best solution? How about the Losi Xcelorin, or is it more suitable for 1/8 buggies? |
Xcelorin is not a very good system. You should invest in new lipos though, MA packs are not good at all. Get some RCM 2s 5200mah hardcases.
|
My Maxamps packs have been running a lot of charges, and so far they delivers every time, so only good experience with those.

When you switch over to a more powerful system (CC 2200) they will most likely puff. If not, they will hold back the CC system from performing at its full potential.

Ok, we will see what happens. But one thing at a time. First upgrade will be a new motor/esc system, and then I will take it from there.
...and it is allways nice when something breaks. It meens you can spend some more money on this fabulous hobby :mdr: |
I agree. Get the CC combo and run it with your current batteries. If they puff, just buy better batteries such as Neuenergy, FP, Zippy etc.
|
OK, I think I will go with the CC combo then. Does it come with the bulletconnectors, an deans to fit two batteries?
|
the motor comes ready to plug into the esc you will need to solder your own male deans plug onto the two battery leads that are provided, they already have the 6.5 plugs on one end just nee your deans on the other.

Super, thanks.
