Kevlar string to stop ballooning
seems like a good idea, now if only it was internal :)
I tried that with copper wire once. It sliced right through the rubber.

Pretty much!!! At least it was cool to watch!

I have thought of making the rubber itself harder so it is less like to expand. I have thought of spreading a glue or shellac on the outside of the tire but have never tried it, I really think that taping tires doesnt help that much. Maybe one of the tire companies coming out with a belted tire they have them for some of the on road tires
Now thats what you call a great idea. It would be neat if companies like proline, hpi, imex would form there tires with these incased within the rubber but instead of two kevlar strings use four or so flat strings of kevlar so that it will not cut threw the tire.

it would need more than a couple of strings more like a kevlar interlocked webbing

What I meant...
I found that a combo of lightweight duct tape and molded foams cut the ballooning on badlands down to about 1/4" or less, even at 50mph. That and balancing are the most important things to do to a truggy or MT. Makes a world of difference!
yup tapes does wonders on the standard size (3.2 inch) tires/wheels combos, but with LPR's we dont even bother taping them.
my perferred wheel now is a LPR truggy wheel I have shelved my Maximizer/Badland combo
