Savage Flux
Just got my Savage Flux last night, and the PolyRC 5000 packs slipped right in. All I have to say is WOW!! I couldn't ever get my emaxx geared so fast, so I had no idea how much power the MMM system really has! :surprised:
It does wheelie much too easy at any speed on 6s and the stock 20t pinion. I never got it fully opened up. Pinion came loose after a few minutes too, and I wasnt too happy with the stock pinion mesh. Now I just need to get Mike to make a motor plate that can hold a Castle Neu motor, because the Flux only holds the can with the stock motor. All they did was replace the nitro motor with an electric motor bolted down, pretty smart on HPIs behalf. |
Isn't the stock motor a Castle Neu motor?
Edit: nevermind, I see what you're saying now. |
I saw one in person the other day and its one sick truck. And that was just sitting on the shelf. I really really want to see an XL Flux, maybe with that beta CC 1518 motor:whistle:
I love my XL, and I'm seriously considering converting it to BL. Depends how pissed off I am at nitro at any given day. Nice thing is everything is pretty much the same, so a swap either way is really easy. Its not perfect, but HPI did a damn nice job on it. Savvies are great trucks. |
Hey Mr Holmes, nice to see ya outside of rccrawler. :mdr:
I've loved my FLM Savage ever since I put it together. The Savage can seriously take a beating. One of the guys who frequents my lhs just put an XL chassis on his Flux and it looks perfect. He said he had to grind a bit to clear the motor, but it looks factory. You really need to have a longer chassis for more stability. My FLM will still wheelie on 4s easily but it's a lot easier to control. I've got a spare FLM chassis for sale cheap if you're interested. It was for my top spped savage, but they moved the chalage to North Carolina last year so I dismantled it. PM me if you're interested. |
