lipo protection?
So, after recently losing $200 in lipos (2x RC-Monster 2s2p Hardcased) I began thinkng, what can I do to stop this sort of thing from happening. Well, what about a fuse? I was hoping to find a self-resetting one, but even something like this would work, I hope

I have a feeling that crossing your fingers will be the best bet. We covered this before a few months ago. BrianG threw in some info, and I think it was decided that I was not really plausible to do on an rc...
Carefully matching your setup can help with issues such as this. Bit we are playing with moveable objects and it is hard to anticipate every problem. Sucks that you killed some lipos, but hopefully I can salvage something for you... |
how did you tear up two hardcase lipos?
|
his MMM puffed both of them.
|
my mmm went NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM! something in it failed, and when it did it either shorted the batteries or drew rediculous amounts of current. Gratuitous amounts of energy! It got hot enough that when they puffed, they bent the case outwards, and it melted, so the plastic stayed that shape.

Coollllllllll.
Sorry for your loss. |
cool was definitely not the 1st word going through my mind when i saw smoke billowing out of my car lol, but you can see where this kind of post would come from... The worst part is that the point series at my local track start 4/4, and mike won't have any of his lipos in until mid april :(

yeah we gotta get the cars ready for the race at family hobbies.
Better start making friends mike ;) |
