Carbon fiber hinge pins-- cut your own.

Somebody posted this in another forum. I thought it was a good find since JDCarbon is out of Revo pins.

You can buy stock carbon fiber rods and cut the length you need.

How do CF pins compare to steel or Ti? I always thought that they would break easily.

I made some for a mini-t once. They wore out pretty fast. Some would break in bad cartwheel wreaks leaving a fuzzy carbon fiber split end.

My JD Carbon pins have held up great. The pushrods and tierods were not so great.

depends on what kind of cf it is i would think. the dragonplate rods are extruded right? very dense but might shear or fracture? directional (normal cf) wwould be my first choice(like i really know what the hell im talking about!!) if they would hold up for a season or so it would be worth it. what would you use to replace the 100 or so grams in your car? bigger motor? batteries? or run it "lightwieght"
