Need more power.....
My setup at the moment is a BASIC 2000XL, and 7020 with 18cells providing the juice. My problem is, I would like a bit more power. I'm considering either getting a wanderer 9XL, or keeping my current set-up and running it on 20cells. My two questions are:
1)Will the 9XL be more powerful than my 2000XL and will it run safe on 18cells with a warrior 7020? 2)Will my little 2000XL be able to handle 20cells, it already runs pretty hot on 18? Thanks for your help |
1) The 9xl will be more powerful than your 2000xl, it will run safe, but not on a 7020, you really should think of getting a 9920 if your gonna run 20 cells.
2) I dont think it will run to great on 20 cells, if you would consider running on 20, youd have to re-gear it, but it would still run pretty hot, on 20 cells a 9 or even 10xl is good. |
Yes, probably a whole new setup is the only chance you have or go for the lehner XL Basic1600 and use 20 cells along with the 7020 controller. You can gear it higher a bit to get more speed.

the 9xl would be safe on a 9 or 10xl. coolhand runs a 9xl on a 7020 on 16 cells i think. i think 18 wouldnt be a problem.

I do run the 9xl on a 7020. I have ran 16 cells with no problems. The controller runs real cool. I would say 20 cells and a 10xl would be awesome setup. Yes it would have more power and run time than your 2000xl. I had a 2000xl and fried the windings on 18cells. It got to hot.

Okay then, a 10xl with the 7020 and 20cells is the way to go.
|
If you have the 7020 it is good. If you going to buy one. the 9920 is a little more.
|
I'm using a 7020 with my 2000XL, temps on the controller hardly ever get above 110F, even on hot days. Coolhand, how does the 9XL go on 16cells, power and temp wise?

Power is good. It runs in the low temps about like you getting. I have it in a monster gt and a flm maxx. I have two set ups. :) I get a bout 25 min on gp3700 for runtime. It has more power than the xl 2000. The motor runs cool as well. If you click webisite at bottom of the post. It has a video of a 9xl in there on 12 and 16 cells.

sorry to bring this topic up again, but how would a 10XL perform on 18cells. I like the fact that the 10XL will run easily on 20cells should I want the upgrade. I'm looking for 45mph+ if possible, can it be done with a 10XL on 18cells?
cheers guys |
im assuming that weight isnt a factor for you? i would go with 18 on a 10xl. should be nice power and runtime.
