esc question for a HV setup.. (no novak, HighVoltage...)

The 2240 thread of Promod got me thinking.

I am thinking about buying a low kv 2240 and a high voltage speedo.

now here is the question;

If i use a mechanical brake, instead of the motorbrake, is it possible to use a speedcontroller that is ment to be put in a plane/boat?

Something like the Master 135-O by hacker.. 135A with a maxx of 32 cells.

Or the Master 77-O (30 cells 77Amps..)

The braking is a big stress for the speedo, and i am going to use a mechanical brake..

And one other thing;

Mike, can you get those controllers?

I don't currently have a source to get the Hacker controllers. Also, I think the best option would be to get a car controller (car software). I have 30 cell BK controllers that will easily hande that setup even if you decide to use controller braking.

Serum,
In the early days of brushless before there were any High cell car speed controls I tried a few different boat controllers. All ended in the same way, A HUGE FIREBALL!!
The boat speed controls Tried didn't even have brakes. I'm really not sure why the boat speed controls smoked but I would stick with a car speed control.

Thank you,
Promod

Fireballs are nice.. But these fireballs are rather expensive..

I can choose between the BK 3095 and the 30120. I think i will buy the 30120, just to be save.

Those last 25A don't cost that much extra..
