LST / Muggy diff cup options

Since we seem to have a few Lst and Muggy owners here, I figured I would start this thread.

My main point is to get all of the available cups listed and see what works and what does not work.

I currently run a set of the nova rc 7075 aluminum cups in my Lst. They have hadled a fair amount of abuse and have not given me any issues.

I also run the bone stock lst cups in a few maxx trucks and they hold up fine with the smaller ties and lighter truck.

I have a few projects that use the Lst diffs (6x6 and muggy) and plan to beat them up, so I am looking at my options.

So far I have found the Losi heavy duty cup for the 8 series. It is supposed to fit the Lst as well. It has large steel inserts that hold the spider gear shafts, so it should hold up to more abuse than the stock plastic cup, but weigh less than an al cup... P/N is Losb3528

I know the nova rc cup fits and works well, but seems a bit heavy. Maybe that is just me though... http://cgi.ebay.com/DIFF-CUP-Losi-Mu...3286.m20.l1116

I have heard that Innovative RC makes a cup, I will have to look that up. http://www.innovative-rc.com/product...bb9855bbd185fc

Anything else out there?

Yep, saw those too. They do seem a bit pricey...

I need to familiarize myself with the sportweks line. Not sure what they offer.

The innovativerc cups are made of 6082-t6 aluminium which is supposed to be stronger than 7075. They're more expensive the the Losi HD cups, but InnovativeRc offers free shipping on orders over £25.

edit: they come with these parts:
3x Diff Cup case in Clear/Silver anodize.
3x Diff Gasket.
6x 2.5x12mm hardened Gear Pins.
12x M3x12mm Countersunk socket cap Screws.
6x Diff cup O-rings.

Quote from their site: "Free shipping on all orders over £25.00 (excludes shipping cost)- World Wide"

edit: ps I vote for a Losi LST/Muggy section on the forum

Yes they are stronger than the untreated 7075-0, but they are weaker than 7075-T6. 6082-t6 is just abit stronger than 6061-t6, about 18% stronger. When I first saw the same statement on innovativerc page, I thought it was quite misleading as nobody really use 7075-0 since they are really soft, like butter... so no point of making a comparison using this material.

If I were you, I would use the nova ones since they are made of 7075-t6, much stronger and harder than 6061-t6 or 6082-t6.

I use the Innovative RC cup for the center diff in my Muggy, no problems there. I still use the stock plastic cups in al housings front and rear, but will be going to the ones with the steel inserts on the next overhaul (from the 8ight).

The sportwerks stuff is the same, the Mayhem/Turmoil buggy is the same as the LST2 and the Mayhem ST is the same as the Muggy. I use the internal gears from sportwerks or the 8ight as they seam to be tougher than the lst and muggy internal gears.
