BX pro
Hi everybody!!!
Will like to receive your recomendation on a brushless combo for a BX pro buggy. What I want is able to smoke the brushed and brushless( Novak and Neo) Associated,Losi and BX buggies at the local track. Able to smoke them on drag racing will be a plus. Will be using 6 cells and 3 s lipos. Thanks:devil |
Personally I would reccomend I lehner basic 4200, although that would be quite a mind blowing ride with 3s lipos. It should be able to smoke the novak and neo systems for sure, although I'm not sure the bx tranny could handle it.
As for a controller, the MGM 80 Compro will work easily. |
I second that motor, but if you really want stunning acceleration, go with the 380 motors. In my Losi xxx4 I have a 380c 9t geared 19/94 on 3s 3200mah kokams and the tires will balloon before the car is even moving. It is currently geared for 47 mph with voltage drop and kv drop considered. With the right combination of power, and air underneath the chassis, it can do a wheelie at 40-45 mph. It's been done! :D And that's just normal running. I can easily gear this motor for speed runs so the setup can go 55, maybe 60 mph.

Thanks for the info!
How much money the 380c? Your Losi had been able to take the power without to much breakage? Or you had to upgrade the trans? Thanks :devil |
You will need the aluminium idler gear for your tranny if you plan to run more than 6 NIMH cells. But its only $15 or so from tower hobbies.
Personally I'd recommend a 380C 9t with a Mtroniks Pro controller. The motor I race in mod class on 6 cells sometimes and it keeps pace nicely, but on 3s will blow your mind in that car. The controller is cheap, well built, waterproof, very smooth & has great manufacture support. |
The 380c 9t is $60. I have never needed to replace any drivetrain parts in the xxx4, which I've had for 2 years. I did switch to the HD belt to prevent belt skipping when applying brake.

Thanks for the response. Will consider a similar set up for the Evader.:devil

How about the 380c 8T? It will be too hot? Will I be able to use it with MTroniks Pro on 3s Lipo when the time call for showing up?
Thanks:devil |
I will have the 380c motors pretty soon. I have heard mixed reviews on the Mtroniks controllers, though.

You can use the 380c 8t, but it will blow your bx to bits. I need 500 feet straight in order to put the 380c 9t to its full potential, just because it takes so long to stop, going 50 mph. Even though it only takes 3 seconds to reach top speed, 150 of your straight is gone and it takes 150 feet to stop.
